thank you! Would have liked to have used a close-up of Gish drifting down the river on a chunk of ice. But then I found this one.

Yeah. I'd never even heard of it until a few weeks ago.

Chloe? Or why I haven't seen any of his other films?

Most of Chloe I just found veryvery disappointing. Might have been some intuitive fanatical attachement I have to the original. I'd been looking forward to Chloe for a while, esp since wellyouknow Julianne Moore (daimn!) etc but then ... nothing affected me and then the whole ending thing and even before, so many little things (like the sequence where Liam Neeson is teaching) that in the end add up to the base feeling of the film were so laughable.

{ now go & rent the sweet hereafter (i finished the book a couple of weeks ago) & the adjuster (!) }

... you know, I will. I couldn't believe how much I enjoyed Exotica. Thank you! I hope maybe you'll find something among my weeksinfilm that will be an equivalent for you.

Oh, jealous jealous. Where do you find all of these films? Online or hard-copies?
o_clamour: truffauto_clamour on November 30th, 2010 02:53 pm (UTC)
All over the place. Friends, public libraries, the cinématheque itself and yes online of course. Mostly the public library and the French cultural institute.
